Ancient Grains

Welcome to our range of organic ancient grains. They are defined as a category of grains which have been minimally changed via selective breeding over recent millennia.

They include varieties of wheat, millet, barley, teff, oats, sorghum and pseudo cereals. Pseudo cereals include quinoa, amaranth buckwheat and chia.

Wheat varieties that are considered ancient grains include spelt, Khorasan wheat, einkorn and emmer. Modern wheat is thought to have been bred from einkorn, emmer and spelt.

Studies show that modern wheats contain more gluten, which has lead to the popularity of ancient grains.

We stock a wide range of organic ancient grains including; organic einkorn, organic emmer grain, organic kamut grain and many more.
