Sunflower seeds are native to North America and have been consumed for over 5000 years by Native Americans who use them for oil, food and also dyes. Spanish explorers brought the them back to Spain and it is now grown readily across the world.

These seeds are nutritionally dense with a wide range of vitamins and minerals that are often hard to obtain such as vitamin E and zinc which protect the body from oxidative stress.
