Sourced from the agave plant native to Mexico, our light agave syrup is made the traditional way – the core (or “piña”) of the plant is slowly heated to extract its natural sugars, then filtered and evaporated to create this golden, pourable nectar. The result is a light, mild syrup that blends beautifully into both sweet and savoury recipes.
Agave syrup dissolves easily, making it ideal for sweetening drinks like teas, smoothies and iced coffees, baking into flapjacks, muffins, and energy bars, drizzling over pancakes, yoghurt or porridge, and mixing into marinades and dressings for a subtle, natural sweetness
It’s sweeter than sugar, so a little goes a long way—use about 25% less than you would regular sugar.
Agave syrup has a naturally low glycaemic index (GI), which means it causes a slower rise in blood sugar compared to many other sweeteners.
Please note that while agave has a low GI, it’s still a form of sugar, so enjoy in moderation as part of a balanced diet.
