Organic Locust Bean Gum – its much better than it sounds!
Organic Locust bean gum, otherwise known as (carob bean gum) or, (carob gum) does not actually have anything to do with locusts. It is extracted from the seeds of the carob tree and is used as a natural, plant based and vegan thickener.
It is produced by milling the endosperm of the seeds which are found in carob tree pods.
Due to the chocolaty fragrance and taste Locust bean gum is commonly used as a thickener in ice cream, yoghurt and cheese. It can can also be used in soups, sauces and desserts.
